Who are the right people to go to when starting a fund-raising drive to assist an imprisoned foreigner here in the Philippines? To whom must one approach when starting a fund-raising project to assist and help a man who’s been convicted and jailed not in his homeland. Who are the right people to ask for help with this cause?

I work for a charity in Las Vegas NV and we are trying to supplement our fund raising program by opening a tire shop with our vehicle donation program.

I need to find out where I can buy GOOD used tires for resale in bulk and preferably a regular basis. We are always willing to pay for these tires as well.

I got a letter from People to People Student Ambassadors for the 4th year in a row, and I really want to go, but I have to raise half of the cost, which is most likely about $5,000. Other than selling baked goods and stuff like that, does anyone have any fund raising ideas? Because I’d really like to go this year, and where I live, the baked goods thing is very worn out.

My sister is in the process of setting up an animal shelter (for any type of animal) in Devon, U.k. We would like some unique and / or tried and tested fund raising ideas to raise money for abandoned / injured / cruelly treated animals. Please help!

Our city yearly puts on a western-themed parade, chili cook-off, rodeo and carnival to raise funds for the local charities. However, over the years our demographics have changed from semi-rural to a more urban, affluent constituency.
Consequently the yearly fund raiser has sufferd from lack of interest and has lost money for the past five years. What alternative functions have your cities found to be profitable?
I should add that the yearly expenses for these functions are above $800,000, so we’re looking for an event, or events, that will bring in around $1,000,000 or more.

We had someone locally who had a fund raiser thrown for them because they were injured while fighting a fire. A pretty nice sum (over 40,000) was raised. That got me thinking about what the tax implications were. Do they have to pay taxes on it since there was no large donation by a single person over 10,000?
