There are several things you should do. First of all, create flyers and hang them up. Also, create a freewebs page and post that on your flyer. Also, try and get certain companies to donate money for both prize money(for this should be a race) and for money to donate to some Diabetes association (is that how you spell it?). You might also want to get an entrance fee of several dollars. It is up to you to decide how much the prize money should be, though. On the day of the race, set up a table with a jar for donation money, a box for entrance fees, and a sign-up sheet. You should decide beforehand how long the race should be, and whether kids are allowed to join. I know this is out of order, too, but you should definitely make flyers and your website from a month to a year in advance, depending on how extreme you want it to be. Decide how many people you want to enter, and where they should be from. Put that information on the flyer and/or the website. As for the rest, be creative. Pizazz appeals to people. Put funky colors on your website. Put banners and great fonts on your flyer. Put a lime green tablecloth on your sign-up stand. When your bikers are done, hand them water bottles with paper around them reading, “Save those in need! Fight Diabetes!” or something like that. Everything you can think of, do it. Try and get yourself in the news, even. This is your moment to shine, to do something good.

    -Print out flyers.
-Hang them in local shops and on trees
-Ask supermarkets/ groceries/ bakeries to donate snacks, Gatorade, Juice, and water.
-Either A) Ask family and friends to go to their employers/ other places to get sponsors for the riders or B) Ask riders to get a sponsor of 10? 20? 40? $
-Be sure to put the date, time, and place on the flyers.
-You might want to ask for volunteers to help setting up/ cleaning up/ running snack booths.
-Speaking of booths, it might be a good idea to ask companies for a donation and keychains, stickers, etc. so that you can give away stuff to bikers and get money for your cause.
-You might want to get some inexpensive medals (Oriental Trading) for first, second, and theird place winners. Perhaps you can even get gift cards, free air fare, or other such things to give away to winners.

    Good Luck!
