Can a high school legally hold your transcripts if you owe a fund-raising fee?
A student has started college and will be kicked out if her transcripts from high school are not received by the college within the next week. Her high school will not forward her transcripts without a fund-raising fee that her parents did not pay. Both her parents are out of work and can’t pay the fee.

I’m planning on doing some fund raising, how can I do this legally?
I’m a student who was recently diagnosed with cancer and now I owe a large amount in medical bills. I decided that I would start to do some fund raising selling t-shirts and holding bake sales to offset some of the costs. I plan on advertising this locally through fliers and other low cost methods. If this is successful it’s something I would like to continue with after my medical bills and school. I would also in the future like to donate some of my proceeds to cancer research. So, do I need to start a small business or charity for legal and tax purposes now? Or can I wait? There is the possibility that this could just amount to me selling some t-shirts and cupcakes to my friends and nothing more, so I wouldn’t exactly want to start a small business just for that. What should I do?

Fund-raising ideas for newly formed (small) village association – please?
Looking for ideas – not big or expensive – to raise funds to start up this group. We have no funds yet, no village hall and just a handful of volunteers, but we are keen to get this off the ground! Any ideas welcome, thanks.
p.s. Thanks for all your answers. We are in Scotland. We are trying to get the speed limit through our village reduced, so car related ideas (even good ones!) are probably not appropriate.
We need the money to cover the costs of starting up the association, printing leaflets, etc. Then onwards from there….

Fund Raising techniques for a high school duo?
Well, next year our high school is organising a trip to Rome. Unfortunatly I can’t afford it due to my sister’s also going on a trip. So does anyone have any fund raising techniques for two high school students (15-year-olds) too raise money in an attempt to pay for the Rome trip?
Oh, we’re Scottish so there’s some legal issues for some traditional American fund raisers

Charity Fund raising- how do i create awareness?
I am raising money for Cancer research UK by walking four paths to the summit of Mt Snowdon In Wales within 24hrs. I would like to raise 5,000 pounds but have as yet failed to create much awareness. Any suggestions? I have a myspace account and a charity website but that is all.
P.S any donations would be very heartily welcomed, Thank you!
